Carnival Conquest 2013--Chef's Table

 When we signed up for the Chef's Table experience on the Carnival Conquest back in 2013, it was still fairly new to the fleet.  We'd heard things about it but had no idea what we were in for.  Oh.  My.  GOODNESS!!!  It was one of the best experiences we've ever had!

The experience started with a galley tour (which was during dinner service, so everything was CRAZY busy!), then we were taken to another room off one of the main dining rooms where the rest of the service took place.  Our head chef and his team were so knowledgeable about everything!

The wine was free-flowing, and you could request red or white or both!  If you weren't a drinker, you were offered any other beverage choice.

We were seated across the table from each other, and there were place cards for us (that we were able to keep!).  I don't remember the names of everything in the courses, but we were able to bring home a menu of everything served (which is probably upstairs in my craft room somewhere!).

Even though the portions look small, after eight courses of food and numerous glasses of wine, you are STUFFED!!!  Each dish was explained by the chef before it was served, and some of the things were dishes we probably would never have had the opportunity to have tried otherwise.

A couple of days later, we received group photos signed by the Head Chef in our cabin.

It was the perfect ending to a great day!  Next up--Georgetown, Grand Cayman!

Carnival Conquest 2013--Montego Bay, Jamaica

Day Four of the cruise brought us to our first port--Montego Bay, Jamaica. 

 If I remember correctly, we took an island tour that included some shopping.

We were dropped off at one shopping area for thirty minutes or so near Fort Montego and came across this lady with a wood carving she was coloring and polishing.  We loved the colors in it, so we purchased it from her and brought it home to add to our travel display.

Once we got back to the port, we did a little shopping there at the stores and purchased a couple of cans of Coke and a bottle of Appleton Estate Rum and enjoyed a Rum & Coke with a Jamaican gentleman we met at the port shops.

We spent a little time taking some pictures outside the ship before we got back on board

then took some scenic photos of the surrounding area once we got back on board.  There was also a Jamaican band that showed up closer to departure time.

Once we departed from Jamaica, it was time for us to get ready for our Chef's Table experience!  Stay tuned for that WONDERFUL dinner!

 

Carnival Conquest 2013--Day 3 Food Choices

 For breakfast on Day Three, we decided to try the Punchliner Comedy Breakfast (which they don't have anymore) in one of the dining rooms.

 Here's what we chose off the breakfast menu:

Fresh Fruit Platter (minus cottage cheese)

Dos Huevos with Hash Browns

Carne y Huevos

Lunch must not have been that exciting, or I simply forgot to take pictures, as I don't have anything for lunch.  As I looked through the photos from dinner, it appears I took a picture of the menus for the evening

and pictures of our appetizers

but failed to photograph the rest of our meal!  Oops!

Yet another great food day about the Carnival Conquest!
